Spring is in the air….

April 27, 2009

and it feels so good!!! For some reason, I just love window boxes filled with flowers. I also really like this old bike! These were a couple more images from our adventure in Lexington last week. Well the flowers are blooming and the grass is getting greener – it’s the perfect time for some spring photos. I am available for events, family/children/newborn baby sessions. I am also booking first communion shoots and senior sessions. I am certain, I can beautifully capture your special occasion. Contact me for more details…. amykellyphotography@gmail.com

Two little cuties….

April 24, 2009

I have to say that I love my job! Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph two adorable children and also had a nice visit with an old friend. While I have been busy lately shooting events, it was so nice to have a session with children – anyone who knows me knows that I love children and babies! It was a beautiful day with light pouring in the windows. Here’s just a sneak peak….

Making memories….

April 22, 2009

On Sunday night, the thought of getting up at 3:30 am, Monday morning was enough to make me ill. I was discussing my husband’s plans to attend the reenactment of the Battle on Lexington Green with my sister, and how I was dreading the early wake-up call. As usual, my sister put me in my place and told me that these are the events that make memories. She was so right. On Monday morning the alarm went off at 3:45 am and we were out of the house by 4:15 am. After the initial shock of the alarm, it wasn’t so bad. The boys love anything to do with history and seeing their enthusiasm made my day. I am happy that we attended the event for the second year in a row.

We arrived in at the Lexington Green at 5:00 am. This year we brought a ladder so the boys had a great view of the battle.

The following picture of John is my favorite – it completely captures his zest for history. He wants to know everything there is to know. He turns nine tomorrow, but he is an “old soul” for sure!

I love old colonial towns. I could walk around taking pictures all day.

I had fun watching my nephew, David the other day. While I planned to do a complete photo shoot, I realized that a real photo shoot is kind of impossible when you are caring “for” and trying to take pictures “of” an infant all at the same time! Add into that mix, a 6 year-old who was attached like Velcro to me and the whole “photo shoot” just went out the window! Matt and I did, however enjoy watching, touching, and smelling David. There is nothing as nice as the smell of a newborn. Matt made a rather descriptive observation – he said that David smelled like jelly beans. I wonder if that’s because I had a mouth full of jelly bellys - just wondering!  I did manage to get a couple of cute shots of him, all while he was in my arms, because he doesn’t like to be put down.
