I am finally presenting this year’s Christmas Card offerings. Below you will find examples of the designs as well as a new (and hopefully) easier ordering process. This process has been created to stream line the ordering process. Custom or semi custom designs can still be done for an added “creation” fee. If you have already had your pictures done and would like to place and order, or if you want to book a “mini” Christmas session, please email amykellyphotography@gmail.com for more details and to receive an order form. Please note that most wording to the cards can be changed for no additional cost. Thank you!

What a wedding this was — it was FANTASTIC! I was so happy I was able to share this joyous day with Caiti and Bill. They are a beautiful couple on the inside and out. I am so fortunate to be able to share such happy times with people, and this day was no exception. Congratulations — I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Here are some highlights from your special day! This bracelet was given to Caiti.  Not only was it beautiful, it had much sentimental value.

I am getting hungry just looking at these amazing desserts — I didn’t try one but as you can see they looked awesome!

Did you ever meet someone and instantly feel like you have always known them? That is exactly how I felt when I met Karen and it was on her wedding day to boot! Karen and I done all the preparations by telephone and email, but I felt as if I had know her forever! What an elegant wedding this was! This was such a small intimate wedding, and every minute detail was fabulous. Karen was STUNNING. The readings and toasts were beautiful — every word was touching. I was honored to be part of their special day. The Veronique was gorgeous! The Veronique was spectacular and the food was too die for! Here’s a glimpse of their day!

What a fun photo shoot this was! It was a pleasure for me to meet an old friend and his wonderful wife and beautiful little girl! I still can’t believe that it was 20 years ago since we worked together at a grocery store — where did the time go? Getting back to this great photo session — all I can say is ADORABLE and every word that means the same! This little girl was a natural and so happy. Her smile was contagious. She rocked the camera the entire time and her out-fits were awesome. I had a blast — here’s a sneak peek!

The night before Kyle and Carly’s wedding I could NOT sleep, not because I was anxious for their wedding but because the rain was pouring so hard that the raindrops hitting my gutters sounded like someone was playing the drums on tin garbage cans! It was that loud. Even the empty lot across from my house filled up like a small pond. While I traveled too Westport that morning, it was still raining — pouring! Then as I sat in traffic on Rt. 24, I started to see bits of blue sky and soon after, rays of sun. My prayers (and probably the prayers of everyone) involved in the wedding were answered. The weather cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful day! I must say that the weather was just the cherry on top of the day, as it would have been a fantastic wedding even if it was raining (though nice weather is always great!) They had a beautiful wedding mass followed by a wonderful place for pictures — it was a retirement home for priests and location was so serene! Every detail of this day was magnificent, and the flowers were AMAZING! Honestly, I would get married all over again if I could wear Carly’s gown (married again to John, of course!) — she was radiant! Kyle was pretty dapper too. You can see the love they have in every picture! Here’s a sneak peek to their wedding day! I may have to do another post just with dance pictures — what a party is was!

This post is packed full of images and that night was packed full of fun! What a beautiful day and night it was for a wedding and every detail was lovely including the food, the flowers, and the uplighting. Brooke looked like she stepped of the page of a bridal magazine — gorgeous! John was pretty cool too. The Red Lion was the venue and it is a wonderful spot for a wedding….just awesome. Here’s a glimpse of their special day!

Here’s my latest newborn! Well of course not “mine”, but my newest little subject! Isn’t he fantastic? He entered the world a month early and was just two week old for his first portrait session. He is too cute and just went with the flow for the entire session. I don’t think he even cried once… well maybe just once. Other than that, he let us just pose him the whole time. I had been exchanging emails and calls with his mom for a couple of months and was so happy to finally meet her and him. I am just thrilled their family has been blessed with Brendan! I am looking forward to a year of sessions with him. I love seeing how much babies change in their first year. Check back — this handsome little guy will be making quite a few appearances on the blog over the course of the year!

I say it all the time …. “I like what I am able to do for work and can’t imagine doing anything else!” I really am lucky. Even though, a great deal of my work comes after I take my pictures with editing, uploading, etc. etc. That is when my pictures come to life for me — I LOVE that! I love being able to feel how things were at the time pictures are taken. Pictures should tell a story, and that is always my goal every time I cover an event or do a portrait session. Which leads me to another thought I have had recently. How many times do you look at old pictures and laugh at a particuliar face or expression someone made or a silly outfit, or see an object in the background and think of something else? Old pictures can spark so much emotion! While I always strive to get classic shots and the posed ones that moms want, I also capture the unposed — the candids! I think these are the absolute best! They tell the story! I always tell clients that I want my pictures to be like a time stamp — to freeze time as it is. That being said, as parents we know that kids don’t always smile for the camera, in fact, I cringe when people say “say cheese”. I would much rather engage children in coversation about things they like to evoke smiles and laughs. Even still not, all kids want to smile — sometimes it’s there way of having control or it’s simply being 2, or 3 or 4 and sometimes even 10! I want to capture personalities. Either way, it’s always my goal to record life the way it is on any particuliar day no day is ever perfect. In doing so, I think my images will be treasured for life. Some day they will be way more interesting. Years from now, I hope people can remember the day, how mom got them dressed what their baby brother or sister did to them or how they laughed! While I have the technical skill and artistry, I want to capture the realness of your life — I want to tell your story!

Without further adieu, here’s a wonderful family I met last week. I had so much fun with them, and that’s another part of my job I love — meeting new people! These little girls were so sweet. While only two years apart, I just loved how the older girl called her sister baby. I just chuckled because they were both just babies to me (and so incredibly precious). Their session brought me back to when my boys were this age, and oh what I would do to have had a family picture of all of us when they were that little!

I think this may have been my longest blog post ever. With no more delays, here is this incredibly sweet family!

Oh my goodness — I can’t believe I never posted these? I LOVED doing this session! Carly and Kyle are an awesome couple, and I’m not just saying that because Kyle is my cousin. I truly felt honored to do their engagement session, and I am so excited for their wedding next week. While this week, I am not a big fan of facebook, all in all, I am happy that it has brough me closer to my cousins. Kyle, I still can’t believe you are getting married as I remember when you were born. Carly, I am so happy I have gotten to know you! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness — here’s to the beginning of the rest of your life! Seven more days — can’t wait! :-)

The other night I had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful family! It’s been in the making for quite some time and I was so happy to finally get it done. It’s especially fun to meet these adorable little girls since I have known their parents for many many years! They all did great and this preview is only the beginning.
