A little out of the box….

February 5, 2010

A few weeks ago, I did a shoot for Liv Fitness, and I plan to share them soon. They will also appear on the Liv Fitness website. Today, Olivia from Liv Fitness asked me to take some additional pictures. While the last shoot consisted of people, this shoot were all objects from the studio. I was had a blast being creative and using light a little differently. Today I was reminded that is so much fun to go beyond my comfort zone. Here are a images from today. If you’re looking for an amazing personal trainor, contact Olivia from Liv Fitness – you won’t be disappointed. Here are a just a few images from today….

Just a quick one….

January 30, 2010

Here’s just a few shots from an inpromptu session with my niece. I had lots of fun experimenting in a new location, but I was reminded that late afernoon, on a school day is probably not the best time for a five year-old who had already had a full day of school! lol She was not too happy with me! I tried to have fun with it anyway, even though she wanted nothing to do with my Valentine’s Day props. Instead she wanted her pictures with guitar that was on display. One thing I have learned as a mom and photographer of children, is that sometimes you may have to abandon your original plan, and just let the child/children lead the way. This totally contradicts my parenting philosophy, but during a photography session the “rules of parenting” don’t always apply — for example bribes come in handy!!!! lol

On this day, I was fortunate to use the space of Liv Fitness and Zamforia for my mini shoot. If you haven’t heard of either of these businesses, check them out. Olivia from Liv Fitness operates her own personal fitness studio and together her and her brother Jonathan own and operate Zamforia. They are wonderful, and I am now fortunate to use their space for some of my indoor shoots. Check out their story on their website — it’s awesome!!! With Valentine’s Day approaching, Zamforia’s, “It Says Love” tee-shirts are the perfect gift (though they make a the perfect gift all year round!!!)

If you’re looking to book an indoor shoot (and I reccommend in door with this cold!!!) let me know. I am also offering “mini” Valentine’s children sessions on February 7th. Please contact me for the details.

I cannot believe that 2010 has arrived and that January is almost behind us – what a month! It has been ages since I last posted but trust me, there has been lots going on. It seem fitting to for my first post of the year to be a newborn session. This little babe is precious. It was a joy to photograph her and visit with her mom. I love photographing newborns – for a short while, I feel like I have gone back in time! Without further a adieu, here she is! 011410_2273

Having a jolly time…

December 29, 2009

I was so excited to sneak in this shoot just a couple of days before Christmas. He was mesmerized by the tree and the lights. This little guy has become one of my favorite subjects. I first met him back in October and here are some of the shots from that session. I just love how he smiles right at me. It is almost instinctive – he can certainly play to the camera. Things can always change, but I hope he always like having his pictures taken, as I look forward to doing it again.122109_1281

Beautiful December day…

December 5, 2009

It was my pleasure to meet this family at the Boston Public Gardens for a Christmas photo shoot. I always welcome the opportunity to spend some time in Boston. These little guys were too cute and their eyes just sparked – they are so handsome! I really enjoyed this session and was happy to meet some new people – it was a beautiful December day! Thank you! In full Christmas mode….

November 29, 2009

Though I have been busy with “Christmas Card” photo sessions for a while, Quincy’s annual Christmas Parade is when the Christmas season has always begun for me (in my heart, that is). I love everything about the parade – being with my family, the sights, the sounds and the all around happy and magical spirit. Today was no exception. The weather made today particularly nice (especially since I have been too busy to think about outfitting my kids with cold weather gear!!!) I will make sure to do that this week, as I am sure it will get COOOLD soon enough.

I am still have limited openings for Christmas card sessions. If you’re interested email me at amykellyphotography@gmail.com to reserve a session. Here are some of my card design offerings.

Here are a few personal pictures from the parade.
112909_6880 These guys just realized Santa was approaching them on the fire truck!
112909_6905The whole clan minus David – I can’t even believe I missed him.  Why didn’t anyone tell me?!?!? Here’s one of David by himself – I am afraid of what the payback will be when he sees this some time in the future!

Here’s one from a session today that I just couldn’t resist – two handsome brothers with their special gift (their adorable baby brother!!!)

Just ducky….

November 23, 2009

Sorry for the cliche’ but since this post is for my sister, it’s completely appropriate. I was thrilled to get my niece and nephew Christmas pictures done yesterday – it is quite an event every year, but one that sure creates memories! This year went off without a hitch. I wonder if it was the presence of my brother in-law Donald, aka “Ducky”! Nevertheless, the kids were as cute as ever. Here’s your sneak preview. Lisa, your call, and Mary’s calls/emails worked! I have something to show you and will have more. Hope you like them.112209_6010

Actually, it was more like police cars, fire trucks, and more police cars! While there was a lot of commotion during this session, it was very much a success. Instead of being distracted, everyone was quite engaged. These children were naturals when it came to picture taking on. They were full of smiles, in fact per their mom’s request I had to persuade them not to smile for a few serious shots. The tree picture is one of my favorites even though my heart was sinking in fear, not that a child would fall (because I knew they were all set) but afraid the tree would break. I did not want to have to explain that to my congregation! While the flu caused us to reschedule a few time, I am happy we were finally able to meet and that everyone was finally healthy! Here’s a sneak peek. 112109_5206

Could he be ….

November 21, 2009

any cuter? I really don’t think so. This little guy was so much fun and so incredibly happy. He basically called the shots, literally! Other than a few sitting down captures (before he really knew what I was all about), the rest of our time was spent with me following him and Curious George! There was certainly a lot of curiosity!!! It was a great shoot.

I feel so lucky that I have been able to photograph so many wonderful families this year. Additionally, the weather has been my friend too – it has been fantastic. In fact, there looks to be some great days this week too. I am still in full Christmas session mode. If you’re interested in booking a Christmas “mini” session, email amykellyphotography@gmail.com for more information. You can view some of my Christmas card design offerings here. I can make custom cards designs as well. 111809_4034

Miss Maeve

November 12, 2009

I loved spending some time with little cutie! I want to extend a Happy 1st Birthday to her – I am so happy that I could capture this special milestone. By the speed of her crawl, I have a feeling she will be walking very soon. She is so precious and was so much fun. Her adorable outfit just made me wish I had a little girl (though I am very grateful for my boys!!!) Here’s a quick preview.

I also want to mention that there is still time to book a family session and/or Christmas “mini” session. I will be posting all of my card options here. I am also available for Christmas/holiday functions and winter events. Call or email me at amykellyphotography@gmail.com or 617.653.3956. Pictures make timeless gifts. I offer gift certificates as well. 111109_1851
