in between the storms — or so this portrait session seemed. This session had been in the works since March, however the weather had a different plan for us — every time we planned to meet, it rained. Well this past Saturday we had some luck, as least for a little while (then the rain started again). Nevertheless, we got it done! The light was perfect very early Saturday morning and these adorable babes were awesome! I am so happy that we finally connected (and coincidentally the mom and I knew each other but didn’t realize until we met!) These children made the session easy for me with all their “cuteness”! Of course, the starbursts and popcorn helped a tiny bit too! Here’s a preview of their session….

The calm…..
June 14, 2010Just perfect…..
May 31, 2010A few weeks ago, I was able to meet this pefect little guy — he was only one week old! I had a great visit with him and his mom and dad. They are great people, and I am so happy for them. Hopefully he will be sleeping through the night in no time. Congratulations on your bundle of joy — I am glad I was able to document his first week!
Happy Birthday…..
May 28, 2010The month of May has almost passed, and I am so behind in my blogging. I have so many great shoots to blog about but decided to jump back into blogging with today’s wonderful shoot. Then I will work my way backwards (while trying to keep up with my busy weeks ahead!) Today was Joseph’s first birthday, and I was so happy to document his special day. He is without a doubt, one of the happiest one year olds I have ever met, and he is also incrediby handsome — of course, I am partial to red heads! Our location proved to be great, as Joseph loved the wall, and he seemed to enjoy pulling himself up and holding on. I have a feeling that he will be pretty mobile soon! Here’s a sneak peak to this birthday boy’s session!
Almost a whole team…..
April 7, 2010but the best looking team at that, plus one adorable little cheerleader! It was my pleasure to meet up with four handsome boys and their adorable little cousin. Saturday was an awesome day for me to begin my out-door season with some very awesome children. Seriously — they were so cute! They were so well behaved and while the littlest brother of the clan was not so keen of the group photos, he really “hammed” it up by himself! I was especially happy to do this session because it brought me back in time a bit, as it took place on the campus of Stonehill College, my alma mater! I think I have only been back there once in since graduating fifteen years ago, so this visit was really nice! It is so pretty there. Without further adieu, here’s the “team”! It’s just a preview, because there’s more to come!
So Sweet….
April 5, 2010I may have said this before, but I just LOVE doing newborn shoots!!! It was such a breath of fresh air to be able to photograph this new baby and her big sister the other day, and it was a great way to enjoy a gorgeous spring day. What a sweet little baby she was (and her sister was a quite cute too!) This little babe was so cooperative, in fact I think she was mesmorized by the “click” of my camera. She let me take so many pictures without even making a peep. Here’s a few from this session but there are so many more!
precious… precious… & precious….
February 26, 2010I was so happy to see a little bit of sun this morning. In fact when the light gleamed through the shades, I jumped out of bed! Well the sun was short lived! It was already snowing out while I was on my way to my morning photo shoot. However, I got a bit of sunshine, nonetheless. It was in the shape of two precious infant twins and their adorable big sister! It might have been snowing and raining outside but there really was a bit of sunshine in the house. There is something so awesome about being able to photograph children – I just love it. Today was no exception. I had so much fun with these babies, and they were so good. I took everything about this session in -the baby sounds, smells, and all around cuteness. It was a pleasure to visit and meet these children. They surely made these images great. They are precious! Here’s a sneak peak to their session….
Anxiously awaiting….
February 7, 2010I had a wonderful maternity session yesterday with an old college friend and her husband (and of course spent the entire night dreaming about babies!!!) This session has been in the works for about three months now, and I can’t believed how quickly the time passed. There was so much excitement between these two people, as they await the arrival of their first baby! I seriously got butterflies in my stomach just witnessing thier joy and anticipation — their is no better gift than the gift of life and they have that! In just a few weeks, they will meet their precious baby. I was grateful to capture this special time for them. It was great to see you, Ludy and a pleasure to meet you, Pete! I am so happy for the both of you. I love they added element of surprise, where they do not know the baby’s sex. They do have names picked out though, so it was Pete’s idea to use the both names in a picture- great thinking!!! Here’s a quick glimpse of their session…
New Year and a new bundle of joy!
January 22, 2010I cannot believe that 2010 has arrived and that January is almost behind us – what a month! It has been ages since I last posted but trust me, there has been lots going on. It seem fitting to for my first post of the year to be a newborn session. This little babe is precious. It was a joy to photograph her and visit with her mom. I love photographing newborns – for a short while, I feel like I have gone back in time! Without further a adieu, here she is!
Having a jolly time…
December 29, 2009I was so excited to sneak in this shoot just a couple of days before Christmas. He was mesmerized by the tree and the lights. This little guy has become one of my favorite subjects. I first met him back in October and here are some of the shots from that session. I just love how he smiles right at me. It is almost instinctive – he can certainly play to the camera. Things can always change, but I hope he always like having his pictures taken, as I look forward to doing it again.
In full Christmas mode….
November 29, 2009Though I have been busy with “Christmas Card” photo sessions for a while, Quincy’s annual Christmas Parade is when the Christmas season has always begun for me (in my heart, that is). I love everything about the parade – being with my family, the sights, the sounds and the all around happy and magical spirit. Today was no exception. The weather made today particularly nice (especially since I have been too busy to think about outfitting my kids with cold weather gear!!!) I will make sure to do that this week, as I am sure it will get COOOLD soon enough.
I am still have limited openings for Christmas card sessions. If you’re interested email me at amykellyphotography@gmail.com to reserve a session. Here are some of my card design offerings.
Here are a few personal pictures from the parade.
These guys just realized Santa was approaching them on the fire truck!
The whole clan minus David – I can’t even believe I missed him. Why didn’t anyone tell me?!?!? Here’s one of David by himself – I am afraid of what the payback will be when he sees this some time in the future!
Here’s one from a session today that I just couldn’t resist – two handsome brothers with their special gift (their adorable baby brother!!!)
