So handsome….

June 2, 2010

I cannot resist a newborn or baby shoot – I have so much fun photographing babies. Today was another example. This little guy is a handsome dude! He completely rocked this session, and he was full of smiles. He was mesmorized by the click of my camera’s shutter. He also loved his “nap-time nanny” which was his little cushioned seat which arrived in the mail today – it was a perfect prop for the session. It’s getting late, but I wanted to display a quick sneak peek to the session. Here goes….

Beautiful…..

June 1, 2010

This day was nothing short of beautiful, especially for picture taking! Everything was nice and green and there was a bit of cloud cover so the light was just right. Of course my little subjects were absolutely adorable too! I had so much fun trailing them as we took a walk, and I snapped away. They did amazingly well. I was so happy their mom found me on-line and that we were able to have such a fantastic session. I was also happy that I found this spot a week before when my husband suggested we take a walk there. I love finding new locations! Here’s a glimpse of the day — there are way too many great ones to post all of them!

Just perfect…..

May 31, 2010

A few weeks ago, I was able to meet this pefect little guy — he was only one week old! I had a great visit with him and his mom and dad. They are great people, and I am so happy for them. Hopefully he will be sleeping through the night in no time. Congratulations on your bundle of joy — I am glad I was able to document his first week!

I was so happy to see a little bit of sun this morning. In fact when the light gleamed through the shades, I jumped out of bed! Well the sun was short lived! It was already snowing out while I was on my way to my morning photo shoot. However, I got a bit of sunshine, nonetheless. It was in the shape of two precious infant twins and their adorable big sister! It might have been snowing and raining outside but there really was a bit of sunshine in the house. There is something so awesome about being able to photograph children – I just love it. Today was no exception. I had so much fun with these babies, and they were so good. I took everything about this session in -the baby sounds, smells, and all around cuteness. It was a pleasure to visit and meet these children. They surely made these images great. They are precious! Here’s a sneak peak to their session….022610_5399

Anxiously awaiting….

February 7, 2010

I had a wonderful maternity session yesterday with an old college friend and her husband (and of course spent the entire night dreaming about babies!!!) This session has been in the works for about three months now, and I can’t believed how quickly the time passed. There was so much excitement between these two people, as they await the arrival of their first baby! I seriously got butterflies in my stomach just witnessing thier joy and anticipation — their is no better gift than the gift of life and they have that! In just a few weeks, they will meet their precious baby. I was grateful to capture this special time for them. It was great to see you, Ludy and a pleasure to meet you, Pete! I am so happy for the both of you. I love they added element of surprise, where they do not know the baby’s sex. They do have names picked out though, so it was Pete’s idea to use the both names in a picture- great thinking!!! Here’s a quick glimpse of their session…

Just a quick one….

January 30, 2010

Here’s just a few shots from an inpromptu session with my niece. I had lots of fun experimenting in a new location, but I was reminded that late afernoon, on a school day is probably not the best time for a five year-old who had already had a full day of school! lol She was not too happy with me! I tried to have fun with it anyway, even though she wanted nothing to do with my Valentine’s Day props. Instead she wanted her pictures with guitar that was on display. One thing I have learned as a mom and photographer of children, is that sometimes you may have to abandon your original plan, and just let the child/children lead the way. This totally contradicts my parenting philosophy, but during a photography session the “rules of parenting” don’t always apply — for example bribes come in handy!!!! lol

On this day, I was fortunate to use the space of Liv Fitness and Zamforia for my mini shoot. If you haven’t heard of either of these businesses, check them out. Olivia from Liv Fitness operates her own personal fitness studio and together her and her brother Jonathan own and operate Zamforia. They are wonderful, and I am now fortunate to use their space for some of my indoor shoots. Check out their story on their website — it’s awesome!!! With Valentine’s Day approaching, Zamforia’s, “It Says Love” tee-shirts are the perfect gift (though they make a the perfect gift all year round!!!)

If you’re looking to book an indoor shoot (and I reccommend in door with this cold!!!) let me know. I am also offering “mini” Valentine’s children sessions on February 7th. Please contact me for the details.

Having a jolly time…

December 29, 2009

I was so excited to sneak in this shoot just a couple of days before Christmas. He was mesmerized by the tree and the lights. This little guy has become one of my favorite subjects. I first met him back in October and here are some of the shots from that session. I just love how he smiles right at me. It is almost instinctive – he can certainly play to the camera. Things can always change, but I hope he always like having his pictures taken, as I look forward to doing it again.122109_1281

It’s beginning to look

December 9, 2009

(and feel) a lot like Christmas! This is my favorite time of the year, but it’s going way to quickly. The last few weeks seem like a blur to me. I am happy (and thankful) for all the Christmas card sessions that have kept me busy. I have had wonderful experiences meeting with new families and old ones. I had a particularly great session yesterday with the children of an old friend. Though it is crazy to think we met ten years ago while each of us were pregnant with our first child. This was surely a reminder to me that time is fleeting!

These children were awesome – just like pros. The little guy just made me laugh the entire time. He kept saying that he didn’t know how to smile. I think he was wrong about this! Maybe you can decide…. Here’s a sneak peek to this session. I forgot to mention one more thing – I actually have a session open on Saturday and a couple next week if anyone is interested in getting pictures and Christmas cards done! Call 617.653.3956 or email amykellyphototgraphy@gmail.com Without further adieu…

In full Christmas mode….

November 29, 2009

Though I have been busy with “Christmas Card” photo sessions for a while, Quincy’s annual Christmas Parade is when the Christmas season has always begun for me (in my heart, that is). I love everything about the parade – being with my family, the sights, the sounds and the all around happy and magical spirit. Today was no exception. The weather made today particularly nice (especially since I have been too busy to think about outfitting my kids with cold weather gear!!!) I will make sure to do that this week, as I am sure it will get COOOLD soon enough.

I am still have limited openings for Christmas card sessions. If you’re interested email me at amykellyphotography@gmail.com to reserve a session. Here are some of my card design offerings.

Here are a few personal pictures from the parade.
112909_6880 These guys just realized Santa was approaching them on the fire truck!
112909_6905The whole clan minus David – I can’t even believe I missed him.  Why didn’t anyone tell me?!?!? Here’s one of David by himself – I am afraid of what the payback will be when he sees this some time in the future!

Here’s one from a session today that I just couldn’t resist – two handsome brothers with their special gift (their adorable baby brother!!!)
112909_6703

Actually, it was more like police cars, fire trucks, and more police cars! While there was a lot of commotion during this session, it was very much a success. Instead of being distracted, everyone was quite engaged. These children were naturals when it came to picture taking on. They were full of smiles, in fact per their mom’s request I had to persuade them not to smile for a few serious shots. The tree picture is one of my favorites even though my heart was sinking in fear, not that a child would fall (because I knew they were all set) but afraid the tree would break. I did not want to have to explain that to my congregation! While the flu caused us to reschedule a few time, I am happy we were finally able to meet and that everyone was finally healthy! Here’s a sneak peek. 112109_5206
